You must have experienced one of the moments where words are not our time begins when the energy fills our life with soul. This journey of ours starts with tiny life that would soon to be mesmerized by uncountable numbers of experiences and environments to be influenced under progress of time, eventually, to develop. The symbolic representation of fetus in this black box embarks the beginning of time. Similarly, the small people like figures represent us. Now, artist Miwon asks to you a question “Which floor do you think you belong to?” |
우리의 시작은 생명을 받는 것이다. 작은 생명으로 시작된 우리의 인생 여정은 다양한 경험과 환경에 의해 지배되고 시간의 흐름에 따라 우린 성장한다. 검은 상자 속 태아의 상징적인 모습을 통해서 시간의 시작을 알린다. 그 위로 배치된 아주 작은 사람들은 바로 우리 자신이다. 작가 미원은 당신에게 묻는다 "당신에게 어울리는 층은 어디인가? |

Miwon’s talk: The stories are made where you and I, where we live. The stories that are filled with us sharing emotions we felt and circumstances we have been. And as those stories pile up and enlarge it becomes the stratum to differentiate you from me, and we by being in there either feel relieved or anxious. Are you happy with where you currently are? In these seven floors of differentiation that I have placed in this black box there lies the desires and dreams of individuals who wish to move on to different floor.
So focused and so concentrated that we may have been indifferent to what was once important to us; maybe we will not ever see them again like those memories of youth. All those that everybody had to give up, the dreams, the contemplation, the talents, and everything more, would not be flushed out nor allowed to be back in. It is the flower that could never bloom under the system. These golden excreta right at your feet is our lost passion. |
나, 당신, 우리가 사는 곳에는 이야기가 만들어진다. 그 이야기는 서로가 공유하는 감정과 상황들로 채워지게 된다. 그리고 그 이야기가 커져 너와 나를 나누는 계층이 되고 우리는 그 계층에 속으로 들어가 안도감 또는 불안감을 느끼게 된다. 현재 당신은 당신의 층에 만족하는가? 나의 검은 상자 속에 만들어진 7층의 나눔 속에는 다른 층으로 가려는 사람들의 꿈과 욕망이 있다.
이렇게 위로 향하는 우리는 어쩌면 모르는 사이 소중한 것들을 버리고 있을지도 모른다. 마치 어릴 적 소중했던 추억을 잊어버리는 것처럼 말이다. 검은 상자 밖 가장 아랫부분에 폭발하지 못한 우리의 배설물들이 가득하다. 흘러내리지도 그렇다고 상자 밖으로 다시 들어갈 수도 없는 금빛 찬란한 이 배설물들은 우리의 잃어버린 사색이며 포기했던 열정들이다. |
