INSIDE OF THE SILENT LANE OF HAUS KHAS VILLAGE-ONE MASTER ART “ATTRACTION”

What do you think about sun when you actually see it? Hot, bright, luminous? Or maybe more. In my feeling and thinking, sun is something which makes me happy. Every day it is giving me new energy to start my day fresh but this time I found something new about sun inside the silent lane of Hauz Khas village, artwork named “attraction”. Every artist has their own concept of making Master art, so do artist Miwon Park has.
I really like Hauz Khas village, not because of… it is happening place but because of small lane where some of artists are working in their studio and making things in virtually which is totally out from common people mind. Located on the 4th floor of building I found this amazing art work. In Gallery Kama, I found this studio full of admiring art pieces which shows the hard work of artist which is made on the basic or I can say simple concept of daily life. |
Few months before I saw her work in KCC (Korean Cultural Center) and I was really impressed by her work. So it made me so curious to know more about her new work.
As I entered in her studio cum Gallery on my right side there is her new work “ attraction” . First I thought that it is Nature grows , give life and then fall. But when I asked to Artist Miwon, she said “it is sun”, I was so surprised to know, sun is orange, bright white and yellow but why green?
Her concept is so simple – “Sun is Nature.” So how you think nature? “Green”. So Sun is green. It made me more curious to know more about this work. According to explanation – Sun rises, attracts but sets down. But most important is, it attracts everything but no one actually comes near to it and moves away because of its heat. Sun is nature, making it by green colour leafs actually symbolizing it is life, life giver also, not to move away. In Asian culture thread symbolizes long life – so making leafs by thread or wool yarns interpreted as long life and form of leafs of course again it is idea from surrounding when connected with nature.
So beautiful concept “attraction” – Sun. It is absolutely true that we all attracts towards sun. It took whole 1 month to artist to create this art piece and she calls it “ 7th solo exhibition” after long time as she is dedicatedly worked on it and exhibiting it in Gallery Kama for july month.

신선한 충격, 푸른 태양
“끌림”

지금 이 글을 읽고 있는 독자분들은 얼마나 주변의 것에 관심을 가지고 하루를 살아가시나요? 혹시나 저와 같이 바쁜 일상과 늘어만 가는 스트레스에 하늘조차 바라보지 않고 살아가는 날이 대부분이지 않나요?
하우스카즈 빌리지는 몇몇의 유튜버들과 블로거들에 의해 인도의 홍대라고도 알려져 있는데, 저는 홍대보다는 인사동의 느낌을 훨씬 강하게 받습니다. 그 이유는 인도 고유 특색의 다양한 예술작품을 볼 수 있기 때문이지 않을까 싶습니다.
좁은 골목 골목을 지나 작업 스튜디오 겸 전시장인 “GALLERY KAMA”에 들어서자 마자 설치 전시작품 “끌림 (Attraction)”이 한 눈에 보였으며,동그란 구 형태와 구를 구성하고 있는 초록색 나뭇잎 형상이 준 첫 인상은 로마 신화에서 나오는 월계관을 쓴 여신의 얼굴이었습니다.하지만 작품설명을 들었을 때, 그것은 저의 첫 인상과는 전혀 다른 것이라 신선한 충격을 받았습니다.

박미원 작가가 6월 한 달의기간 동안 작업한 이 작품은 누구나 쉽게 구할 수 있는 뜨개실을 이용해 주변에서 쉽게 볼 수 있는 자연 소재인 나뭇잎 모양을 만들고, 석고보드 벽에 나뭇잎 모형의 실을 하나하나 핀으로 꽂아 태양의 뜨고 짐을 형상화한 작품입니다. 이 작품은 태양은 누구에게나 필요한 존재이지만, 다가갈 수 없기에 오히려 더 끌리게 되는 특징을 잘 보여주고 있으며, 보는 입장에 따라 끌려가는 이미지가 아닌 다가오는 이를 두고 떠나가는 모습으로 보여지기도 합니다.
또한 태양의 붉은 색깔을 사용하지 않고 붉은색과는 상반되는 초록색을 사용함으로, 지는 낙엽이 아닌 생동감이 넘치는 푸르른 나뭇잎을 떠올리게 합니다. 지고 끝나는 쓸쓸한 이미지가 아닌 생동감 넘치는 밝고 살아있는 생명의 이미지를 보여주고 싶은 박미원 작가의 의도가 들어가 있으며, 생명, 장수라는 동양적인 의미를 가진 실을 이용하여 해당 의도를 더욱 부각시키고 있습니다.
주변의 것들에 관심을 갖고 소통하고 싶은 마음을 가지고 작업한 박미원 작가의 “끌림 (Attraction)” 작품이 이번 7월 한달 동안 “GALLERYKAMA”에 전시됩니다.
바쁜 일상에 지쳐 있다면, “GALLERY KAMA”를 방문하여 “끌림 (Attraction)”을 감상하는 시간을 내어보면 어떨까요? 잊고 살았던 주변을 다시 한 번 관심 갖고 바라보게 되는 여유를 되찾는 기회를 얻을 수 있지 않을까요? |
